Rush 11G Wins ASK Tournament

March 3, 2024.  Liberty Sports Park. Congratulation to Maryland Rush 11G on winning the top bracket of the 2024 Alexandria Soccer Kickoff Tournament!

The girls opened the tournament on Saturday morning with a big 4-0 win against VSA 11G Premier Red. Katelyn B. and Kylie B. opened up the scoring with a goal each, while Siena V. recorded a brace. The girls dropped their second match of the day to a tough Alexandria 2012G Pre-NL squad 1-2. 

However, Sunday morning the Rush girls bounced back, posting a 1-0 win against familiar USYS DI opponent, Severna Park 11G Green. Siena V.'s game winner proved to be enough to send the Rush girls to the championship later in the day.

The championship game proved to be a thriller, as the Rush faced the same Alexandria squad they fell to during group play the day prior. Siena V. started off the scoring after intercepting a back pass from the Alexandria defender to the keeper. In the second half, Siena V. recorded another goal off a great through ball from Julia M., giving the Rush a 2-0 lead. Alexandria battled back and picked up a late goal, however, it was not enough to overtake the Rush.
