All the Rush Select teams met at the soccer complex and had an opening ceremony for Rush Select Nation (see photo below) and meet their new teammates from around the country for the first time. These players are all on their own Rush Club teams in whatever state they were selected from.

After the opening ceremony, meeting their new Rush Select teammates and receiving their new Rush Select jersey's, they went and had a training session to get to know each other before playing together in less than 24 hours.
On Saturday morning, February 13th, the 2005 Girls gathered at the beach to have a warm-up, stretching, and get to know each other a bit (see picture below)

South Orlando SC 2005 Premier Girls - Result: Win 5 - 0
Gemma has a brace (2 goals) in the game and leads the team to a decisive victory in the opening game in the U16 Girls Showcase Gold Flight.
Game 2 vs. Tropical Soccer Sunrise Prime FC Elite 2005 Girls - Result: Win 2-1
Gemma scores one of the two goals for her Rush Select team in this close game, her 3rd goal in two games.
Day 1 was a huge success for the Rush Select 2005 Girls and for Gemma (as seen in her smile in the picture below)

Gemma bags another goal, the first goal of the game beating both center backs for a cross from the right and while sliding, scored in the lower left corner. The team wins and advances to the Championship game of the Flight.
Game 4 (Championship Game) vs. Tropical Soccer Sunrise Prime FC Elite 2005 Girls - Result: Win 3-1
Gemma has numerous chances, but doesn't score in this one. Team wins the game and the U16 Girls Showcase Gold Flight Champioship .
Final numbers are in.... Gemma Tamburri led her National Rush Select team in scoring over the weekend with 4 goals over the 4 games played. She actually scored 1/3 of the teams overall goals (4 of 12) leading the team to the Weston Cup & Showcase U16 Girls Showcase Gold Championship!
