MD Rush 2011 Girls Finalists at Amanda Post Memorial Tourney

March 15, 2021. Bowie, MD. The Maryland Rush 2011 Girls we're Finalists at the 2021 Amanda Post Memorial Tournament, March 13-14, 2021

Competing in the Girls U10 Gold Flight, the top Flight of three Flights at this tournament. The Girls U10 Gold Flight had 6 teams broken into two separate groups of 3 teams each. Group play was on Saturday, March 13th and the Semi-Final, Consolation and Final matched were scheduled on Sunday, March 14th.

In group play on Saturday, March 13th, the team got off to a great start in their first match by defeating Ellicott City City 2011 Girls Black by as score of 3-1. In game two of group play Saturday afternoon, the girls followed up with a 4-2 win over SAC Premier White. In winning both games, the team finished first in their group (Bracket 2) and advanced to the Semi-Final Round on Sunday, March 14th against the second place finisher in Bracket 1 (Pipeline Soccer Club Black).

The stats on group play, were 2 Wins, 0 Loss, 0 Draw with 7 Goals For and 3 Goals Against for a + 4 Goal Differential.

On to the Semi-Final Round on Sunday, March 14th against Pipeline Soccer Club Black... the girls went on to defeat Pipeline by a score of 2-1 and advanced to the Final of the top Flight against the winner of the other Semi-Final match (Coppermine SC Girls 2011 Premier).

The Final was a very close one and ended in a 0-0 Draw, and went to Spot Kicks to decide this one... unfortunately our Girls lost the Final on Spot Kicks, but doesn't change what this amazing group of girls accomplished in this tournament. They're an electric bunch, fun to watch and have an awesome future together!
