MD Rush 2005 Girls Have 2 College Night Zoom Meetings
May 22, 2020. Bowie MD. The Maryland Rush 2005 Girls USYS EDP National League Team and the Southern Maryland Rush 2005 Girls USYS EDP National League Team have had two different Zoom Meeting College Night opportunities over the past two weeks during the COVID-19 shutdown.
Maryland Rush Technical Director Steve Senna was able to set up Zoom Meetings hosted by Salisbury University Women's Head Coach Kwame Lloyd, on May 14th and another with McDaniel College Women's Head Coach Sandy Lagana, on May 21st.
Both Coach Kwane Lloyd and Coach Sandy Lagana spent well over an hour with the girls on Zoom discussing with them what being a collegiate player was all about. Giving them advice, as well as explaining the process. What they look for when they are looking for recruits, not just in terms of how they play, but what they look for from them as students and young people.
The importance of how they treat each other, their teammates, their parents, their coaches, officials and opponents. How they carry themselves on and off the pitch!
Both experienced college coaches interacted with every girl on the calls, asked them about themselves, their ambitions and what their individual questions were about playing collegiality and the process, as well as how to know what college or even which NCAA Division I, II, III or others (NAIA, JUCO, etc...) they may consider over the next few years.
The girls were super excited by having this opportunity and it gave them a better understanding of the process and also gave them some face time with real active college coaches which is priceless and will help them tremendously.
Maryland Rush would like to thank both Kwame Lloyd and Sandy Lagana for giving their time to our girls and for being so honest about the process!
